Promises

WF kept to his word and behaved well in music class this week. Not only did he follow the lesson quite thoroughly, he also refrained from playing the electone keys and fiddling with its dials when he was not supposed to do so. In other words, he listened to instructions.

WF also did not throw tantrums when we brought him to 文化艺术团 class today. He said, "Bye!" as he went into the classroom, clutching his wafer-thin bag under his arms. :)

During dismissal, I checked with the teacher on WF's progress in class. She commented that her observation is that WF understands the lessons and is capable of following instructions. However, he tends to lose focus (aka look everywhere else except wherever he should be looking at - be it teacher or text of the song sheets) easily. After a brief discussion, I requested the teacher to be extra firm with WF. She agreed that this is what she will do.

Like the music lessons, I think we ought to revise the 文化艺术团 lessons with WF regularly as we had done with WY before.

Somehow, going through the lessons taught and revising the work regularly were so natural and 'automatic' with WY; we didn't even have to "make special efforts" to do these. But with WF, revision has been minimal. Very bad on our part.... The perpetual excuse of "no time" should be no excuse, right?

WY will say this is "unfair" to him (he has had to regularly practise his work mah!), but to me, this is not being fair to WF.

So, my 1st post-元宵节 resolutions are to conscientiously revise lessons with WF regularly and to give him no less attention as I had done with WY.
